Catfish catching competition

In addition to a competitive side of the event, it will also be carrying an environmental message and a public appeal for the protection and conservation of fish stocks and river ecosystems. Location of the event will be the Zemun quay, at outdoor theatre near the restaurant “Venecija”. On the day of the contest, competitors will go to the water at 6 a.m. and return to the starting point at 13h, where their catch will be immediately measured and adequate statistics by the organizers will be kept. At 14h the winners will be announced, with prizes awarded on the summer stage. That will mark the end of the official part of the competitive event.

The day before the competition will be reserved for the clean-up of the shore, removing garbage and cleaning the Zemun quay, which will involve local population, supported by the cooperation between local government and media. All day long, until 22 hours, entertainment and educational programs will be held on the summer stage at the quay.
